Hurricane Irma Emergency Power Restoration

When Hurricane Irma left over 64% of Florida without power in September 2017, restoring service fast became the priority for local utilities. Spark Power crews rebuilt overhead distribution in Sebring while keeping planned outages for already-affected customers as short as possible.

• Installed and removed wood poles and associated powerline hardware
• Strung new overhead three-phase and single-phase primary line
• Used live line techniques to relocate secondary services to the new overhead line, including relocation of primary and secondary underground plant
• Self-performed all daily work scheduling and site protection coordination
• Managed all customer communications for planned outage notifications throughout the project
